My condolences go out to family and friends of Ricky. I have not seen or heard from him for many years, but he was one of my best friends growing up.
We lived across the street from each other and did a lot of neighborhood stuff together. In the winter when the snow was deep and school closed down, we would build forts, and have snow ball scrimmages. Ricky and I built very sturdy walls in our forts and usually took on the whole neighborhood and won! We were in the same Cub Scout group and did a lot of projects and camping out together.
We not only grew up together, but started first grade at Spring Ave Elementary and went all the way through to LTHS graduation together! He was a smart kid, especially in math, and helped me get through homework in Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry.
He was a kind, patient, soft spoken individual. Although we were in Bowling club, we didn't get to spend much time together hanging out in HS, because he worked for 3 years at the dry cleaners after school.
So, he will be missed, but not forgotten, as he will always be in my memories forever.

Don.......I did not know you very well in high school and I must admit I did not know you're a great friend Ricky. I want to tell you, however, that your tribute to your friend is remarkably passionate and heartfelt. It is so difficult ithese days to see our friends pass. It leaves such an empty feeling in us. Your friendship with him through the younger years and grammar school and high school is reminiscent of my memories of great lost friends. Such a nice tribute you paid to Ricky.
Mike

Thanks for your comments, Mike! We saw each other at 50th. I really would like to attend the summer picnic with everyone, but we have previous plans with grandchildren. I appreciate your setting up such a wonderful event to keep our classes in touch. Have a great picnic, good weather, and special fellowship together!!
