Bruce Frederick Nickerson, 63, of South Fork, Colo. died in Del Norte at the Rio Grande Hospital on Sat., March 24, 2009.
Bruce was born Jan. 31, 1946 in Chicago, Ill. to Frederick and Elanore (Allen) Nickerson. Since Bruce's dad was in the Coast Guard, the family traveled a lot. This enabled Bruce to live for about six years in Hawaii. Bruce served in the United States Army. Bruce attended Colorado University at Boulder. In addition to enjoying his work as a realtor, Bruce also had a variety of interests. Bruce really liked living on his ranch, the outdoors, horses, cookouts, and sitting by the river.
His parents preceded Bruce in death. Surviving Bruce are his sister Nora (Bill) Schoen of South Fork and several nieces and nephews.
The family chose cremation. Services to honor and celebrate Bruce's life will be held at a later date. Strohmayer's Funeral Home made the arrangements.
